Washington Sundar made his Test debut for India against Australia at just 21, becoming one of the youngest players to debut as an all-rounder in Australian conditions.
While he's primarily known for his bowling, Sundar is a left-handed batsman who has impressed many with his solid technique, making him a reliable middle-order option for India.
Sundar's IPL debut in 2017 for Rising Pune Supergiants showed his potential as a rising star. He was selected primarily for his bowling skills but also for his ability to contribute with the bat.
Fearless Bowling Against Big Batsmen
He has delivered some crucial overs in pressure situations, including taking key wickets against some of the world's best batsmen like Steve Smith and David Warner.
Sundar was only 19 years old when he made his debut for India in limited-overs cricket, making him one of the youngest Indian cricketers to feature in a T20I series.
His father, M. Sundar, is a former first-class cricketer, and his mother, Narayanan Sundar, is a homemaker. Growing up in a cricketing family, Washington’s talent was nurtured from an early age.
Originally regarded as a bowler, Sundar worked hard on his batting, which earned him a spot as a genuine all-rounder in India's squad across formats.
