Pant’s Record WTC Run!

Rishabh Pant becomes the 3rd Indian batter to cross 2000 runs in the World Test Championship (WTC), joining legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Pant achieved this milestone in his 30th WTC match against Australia at Optus Stadium, Perth.

He scored the crucial three runs in India’s first innings during the 19th over to enter the 2000-run club.

Top WTC Run-Scorers for India: Rohit Sharma: 2685 runs – Virat Kohli: 2432 runs – Rishabh Pant: 2007* runs

Pant is now eyeing MS Dhoni's record for most Test centuries by an Indian wicketkeeper-batter (6 centuries).

Pant's stats: 6 centuries in just 39 Tests vs Dhoni's 6 in 90 Tests.

Global WTC Records: – Joe Root: 5325 runs (highest overall) – Labuschagne: 3904 runs – Steve Smith: 3486 runs

Pant made his red-ball comeback in September 2024 after a 21-month break, scoring a century against Bangladesh.
